Going through high school without drugs or alchohol as a philosophical test? So I plan to never smoke or drink like everyone else in high school, i already went my freshman year without doing it but a lot of my friends tried to receive me to join in but I see it as this:
Alochol and drugs will alter my insight of reality, making what I’m thinking and seeing and believing completely different than what I would whether I was sober, and I wouldn’t want that, because I want to experience life in the most real and tangible way possible, I want to accept suffering and hurting and not turn to something to receive rid of it, I want happiness not to come from getting high. You could call it masochism, because i nearly feel like seeing how much I can take before needing to turn to something like drink or drugs.
I don’t know, i’ve just been reading too much Camus i imagine.
xXsynicalXx, that’s precisely why i’m doing this, life sucks yeah it does, especially when you live some suburban plastic life where every teenager thinks they’re rebelling by partying and its pathetic

Your a very wise young man. Keep up the good work. There will be a time of transition when its correct. It will be then that a party stage of life kicks in when it should, not when your friends say. Hint-i was smashed first night at college.

I did that. Stayed clean through high school. I was proud of myself, and still am.
Since commencement, I’ve done my share of drugs and enjoy boozing it up. Won’t change anything whether you begin in school or not, you’ll do what you like, and I like doing those things.
You set goals for yourself to overcome them and build confidence, and look back on them for support. Whether anything, it builds willpower, something important to have.

Too much Camus? Ha ha. Oh, existentialism…
I felt that way too. That changed. I don’t think substances are presented objectively to us as children and adolescents, and what we perceive them to be are either far more dangerous or far more docile than they actually are. My best advice for you is that don’t hold that standard too high. You can go the entirety of high school and not take a unmarried substance by sheer disinterest, but the fact that you want to see how much you can take is a little frightening. I think it is relatively innocent when we experiment for the sake of experience. It is when we abuse drugs and alcohol as a part of escapism that matters become terribly dangerous.

i think that it good you don’t give into temptation. but you say you want to experiance life in the most real and tangible way hello drugs and drink are real. i would compare the whole tangible object with consuming to much sugar which could make you hyper and jittery. i’m just saying how can you experiance life if you don’t try things. i’m not saying go out and receive wasted but trust me it’s a whole different way of life that i say whether you never try you’ll never know what it was like.

you just have to decide if your useing drugs or alcohol to enhance a good time at a party and make it better or if your using it to create a good time or happiness because there is a big difference. Whether your doing it to enhance life then its ok but if your doing it to create happiness or a good time then you have problems. Plus weed is actually good for you go to www.norml.com it will tell you

Suffer for your work guy, I like it. I generally encourage people to do drugs because I like them so much, but you stand by your convictions. Now I will pose some common objections to the claims you’ve made. First, just because a perception is different doesn’t make it any less real. Moment, turning to drugs to escape pain is impossible and is not the reason numerous or most people Do take drugs. Third, being high doesn’t equal happiness. Have fun with wherever life takes you

I fully agree with what you’re saying approximately experiencing all of life, good and poor. That is why you shouldn’t make a blanket policy of abstinence no matter what. When you use weed/alcohol you only alter your perceptions/feelings while you are on it, it’s not like after one use you’re fucked up for good. It is possible that using these, in moderation of course, could potentially help you to enjoy. This isn’t to say go out looking to do it or anything, it’s just it can be enjoyable when used in moderation and the negatives of drug Abuse Not Use are no reason to abstain fully. You just need to always keep your feet on the ground and preserve control and not let yourself become dependant.
Also I fully agree, don’t turn to drugs as an escape from problems.

It is entirely possible as long as you want it to be. I didn’t smoke, alcohol, or do drugs in high school. That was nearly 4 years ago since I graduated and now that I’m 21 I rarely even alcohol (it’s never to receive drunk) and I do smoke now.

Hurting is life way of testing your vigor whether you give into pian it will ingulf you. if you give into drugs and alcohol then you will be just a drug
user for both drugs and drink are temper altering no one ever improves their lives by waisting them on either. leave the drugs for sickness and times when you cannot live without them such as cronic hurting god makes us experience pain through different means and under measures that we can stand and not be overcome by pain as a test for what is life without strife its a life full of happiness which we all know is never reality for every life is strewn with strifes at some point you will have your challenges and your tests by gods will the choices you make during those times are your s and no ones else.
show you have moral fortittude to overcome all god has to offer your life an he will test you but only to make you appreciate his gifts and his love for no one gets out of life without doing his will for he has a place and a mission for your life the reason he blessed you to be born
return his love and his blessing by showing him your devotion and return compliment and love to the father of all thats all he wants you to be a loving child full of love and compliment for his efforts for your life.

Fine. But you are certainly not drug or chemical free even whether you never touch unlawful drugs or alcohol. Your body is physically nothing but a bunch of chemicals arranged in very particular ways. Your own body gets you chemically high on adrenaline and neurohumours. You cannot avoid it as it is what you are. Numerous people are in fact addicted to adrenaline and they need excitement to maintain that high. Your food is also just a plate of chemicals, often containing drugs of various types. The caffeine in coffee is a central nervous stimulant. Aspirin, and other drugs that you purchase at the pharmacy are drugs too.
The idea that you preserve a fixed level of awareness and consciousness throughout the day is not verified by any study. Pain and suffering varies too. The context is important.
But having a good intellect is a very valuable object and it is best to avoid losing its sharpness whether you can.
I am amused as my daughter is very much like you in this respect. She has never had a cup of coffee in her life. She is finishing up her Ph.D. at a major university in California, after graduating cum laude at Yale University.

I think thats way intresting.
look, i say go for it and do it al the way heres some extra reasons:
1 even whether you wanna alcohol and smoke, you can do it afterwards and youll have a really strange story to tell at later parties.
2 you might never take it up - particulary smoking - ive smoked for 17 years and its So not worth getting hooked.
3 4 years aint that long. Have fun man, thats intresting.

high school isn’t that dramatic. people over think things. there will not be too much to take. It may appear that way, notwithstanding, you can deal with pretty much anything that crops up in high school. the majority of people start doing drugs or drinking merely to experience something new. while i did not select the path you mean, i applaud you for doing so.
i don’t remorse my actions in the slightest, and i equally respect yours.
don’t worry. you want be an outcast. we all have friends who don’t alcohol, smoke or whatever!

These days it really is a test to go through high school without that stuff.
I am 25 and have never done a drug in my life. I didn’t drink until I was 21 and that has been only very little.
Embracing life for what it is can truly help you develop who you are. It can enhance your soul.
Two years ago I was in a wreck and fought to save my leg for a year only to end up having to have it amputated and I stand here now with my prosthetic, completely drug-free and never resorting to drugs– anyway the necessary prescribed hurting medicine at the time of everything.
I think that if you can succeed in not touching any of that stuff the entire time in high school puts you on a rare list. Your soul is precious and life should be embraced. Good and poor. It’s all a learning experience and a growth process. Stand strong and you’ll come out even stronger.
Best of luck to you!

well i am sure there are some people who get through high school without it. i applaud your not giving in to peer pressure. it is not always easy. the drugs are not essential. the problems are still there, taking them just escapes them for a while and also adds more problems. so really just memorize healthier ways to manage with the hell that life can often be. if you want to escape go see a film, read a book, take up some other hobby that for a while you can leave your problems backside and get back to them later after a nice intellectual heath break. don’t even have to be a long break. sometimes all i need is a little bit of music to escape the harshness. so sometimes i hum or sing when i am doing disagreeable matters. makes them go faster too.
