Glenfiddich Malt 18 Y.O Whisky
$42.00
The gledfiddich distillery was founded in 1886 by William Grant in Dufftown, Scotland, in the valley of the River Fiddich. The whisky is the only Highland or Speyside Scotch whisky to be distilled, matured and bottled at a single distillery. Like other distilleries, Glenfiddich uses a single source of natural spring water and is matured in oak casks such as rum from Cuba.
Glenfiddich Malt 18 Y.O Whisky has a golden colour and an aroma of caramel, vanilla and floral notes, with a very smooth and melow taste and a long finish.

How much drink should I alcohol to be a tiny bit tipsy/loose but not drunk? I’m working at a show at a booth for jewelry. I have to sell sell sell!
100 sober, I’m pretty shy. Obviously I’ll talk to people and try my best to persuade them, but I’ll be holding back a lot and I’m naturally pretty reserved.
When drunk, I guess like most people, I’m super outgoing. I don’t want to be really drunk though, just a little bit buzzed…enough to receive me social and open, but not enough to impair my judgement, or make me behave crazy/loud/dumb/you know..
How much, in amounts of shots, would it take for me to accomplish this gentle tipsiness?
I’m 5′6 and 125 lbs
and yes I’m 18
I have Chivas Regal, Glenfiddich, Appleton Rum….if you know what those are.
Thanks!

Vintage port or unmarried malt? My friend and I decided to receive a bottle of something which we could break out and toast on happy and momentous occasions (such as our weddings, birth of a child, etc). We don really consume drink, apart from for the occasional glass of wine during a family Christmas dinner or what not, so we are not certain about what we should get. I would really like a bottle of vintage port, but am not sure whether once opened these can be corked up and left for years without going bad. I think a good whiskey (like a Glenfiddich or Miltonduff) won go poor even whether it was opened and left for years, but I really have no clue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It won’t go bad. Glenlivet is another good one. Never mix, always with ice. Or Jim Beam is smooth and he and I celebrate all occasions together.

Unless you are going to consume the whole bottle within several weeks go for the unmarried malt. While port is fortified with brandy it is still wine and will oxidize quite quickly. Several weeks at the most. It would be a disgrace to waste a great bottle of port by letting most of it go bad. Definitely do the single malt. Whether you really want vintage port, look for half-bottles.

Whether opened, the scotch will final the wine won’t, no matter what you do with it.
Incidentally the scotch won’t last forever, whether opened, it will eventually lose some of its character, the flavor will decrease and develop a dry, papery (read bad) taste.
For my $, I like The Glenlivet 18, The Macallan 12 or 18, or even Johnnie Walker Gold Label, these are approx. $65-70 (except for The Macallan 18 $125 ).
Avoid higher priced blended scotches like Johnnie Walker Blue Label ($175 ), while this is a very good blend, I feel it is overpriced and I even prefer the taste of Gold Label.
Your best bet is to go to a bar that has a very wide variety of scotches, try a few and find one that fits your taste (they don’t even come shut to all tasting the same).
Some people prefer a gentle smooth taste, some a full-bodied smoky taste, some, like me, prefer a full-bodied, smooth finishing, slightly sweet flavor. You will have to find your own, don’t let any one tell what is the best.
You can drink it any way you prefer, whether you are new to scotch I suggest drinking it on-the-rocks.
Purists say to add a splash of (good bottled/spring water (no Ice), it brings out the flavor in the malt without masking the subtleties in the flavor.
If I don’t drink it this way I alcohol it neat (straight).

Vintage Port is a good call, only because I am rarely done drinking wine by the time the dessert course and or cheese cart rolls by.
I tell you what - next time you cats are celebrating, try and find yourselves a bottle of Warre’s Fine White Port from Portugal.
For under $12 bucks, too!!

Although port is fortified and has a higher percentage of drink than wine, it will still go bad in time, once it is opened. Scotch, on the other hand, can final longer after it is opened. You mentioned unmarried malt, which is good for celebration. I like Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Bowmore… J.Walker Gold Label is a high lesson blended’, not a unmarried malt. I think someone made a little mistake there. Notwithstanding, since you mentioned that you are not a steady drinker, I would suggest you go to a nice bar and order a glass for yourselves, rather than pay all that money and purchase a bottle. Happy celebrations.

stick with the scotch if you are not going to use up the whole bottle of port quickly. It will go poor and taste like vinegar.
