Is this normal approximately alcohol(hennessy cognac)? For the first time in my life I drank alcohol y’day. I drank approximately 250ml of hennessy cognac straight, but couldn’t feel drunk fully. All I could feel was a little imbalance and a heavy head. But I was mentally in control and can remember everything in the night. Is this what it is approximately getting drunk? Also I didnt like taste at all, how do people like to alcohol such a disgustingly tasting drink? Still dont understand what pleasure there is in alcohol?
Also, its been 6 hours since I drank and am awake again, dont feel any hangover or anything. Is it ok to drive now?
Or am I still drunk?

You were most likely drunk, but didn’t recognize it. Cognac will give you a smooth buzz, unlike some other drinks. Every drink is different. Try drinking a beer or tequila and see what happens. Never alcohol and drive.

without knowing how much you weigh, 250 ml might not be a lot… that is a 1/3 of a fifth so it is fairly a bit, particularly for breaking an alcoholic cherry… you might have a high natural tolerance (which is possible).. hennessy is a little bit more expansive drink and is smoother, trust me there are a lot worse tasting alcoholic drinks.
and if you were mentally in control and remember everything doesn’t mean you weren’t buzzed, i’m in control when i’m buzzed. so i don’t think you were really drunk, but i bet it did have some affect on you, you just might not have realized it.. you can probably drive now. and it sounds like you drank alone, the only pleasure in drinking alone is typically for alcoholics.. it isn’t a lot of fun for everyone else.
there are some positives and some negatives… i -along with a lot of other people- do crazy stuff when i get way too drunk. a lot of times silly idiotic things i remorse… it is a way of letting go, being social, forgetting life, feeling chemically happy, etc.

I’ll tell you, it’s difficult to know how drunk you are until you know what being really, Really drunk feels like. Once you’ve been sick laying on the bathroom floor with the spins, it’s easier to recognize the beginning signs of getting drunk, and when you need to stop (or not) drinking.
