Why aren’t companies required to put the ingredients on a beer or drink label?

How come drink doesn’t have a nutrition label? I can go to the grocery store and find a nutrition lable on any food or beverage, except for alcohol. I intend, even a bottle of water has a nutrition label on the back, and it lists a 0 in all of the categories! The most simple and obious response is well, there isn’t any nutrition in drink. This may be true, but don’t you think people might want to know how numerous calories are in a shot of Jack, or how numerous carbs are in a shot of Captain? Correct now, the only nutritional guidance I can receive from a bottle of booze is don’t alcohol and drive and don’t alcohol while pregnant.

What lucid drink smells and tastes like licorice but is in a different language (the bottle label)? I don’t drink but I had a sip of strong clear drink is a bottle that seemed to be labeled in a different language… It smelled and tasted like gentle licorice but I am not certain what it is. Thanks!

There is a Greek liquor ouzo that fits your description. Turns white if you add it to water.

My best guess would be ouzo or sambuca, I was in greece this summer and ouzo is everywhere in bottles with funny greek names, so probably that!
